Trane
The air-handling industry is quickly becoming a sophisticated market that requires highly engineered systems for the most energy efficient, flexible, reliable solution for your comfort needs. Preview the Trane M-Series Climate Changer air handler CD. It's loaded with the latest information on open protocol controllers, energy recovery solutions, climate-specific applications and best practices for indoor air quality.

Trane combines comprehensive performance certification by independent agencies with thorough laboratory testing and advanced manufacturing methods. Together, these elements help assure that each M-Series unit operates predictably and reliably throughout the life of the unit.

Factory Testing

All Trane coils undergo an air-under-water test at pressures one-and-a-half times the maximum operating pressure for which the coil is rated. This test checks for leaks and verifies the construction integrity of the component parts. All Trane coils must successfully pass this test.

All Trane fans are balanced. Dynamic balancing is performed in the horizontal and vertical planes at the speed required to meet scheduled performance, as specified. Balancing the fan at the specified speed ensures that it will not experience excessive vibration or noise.

Fans that are selected with variable-frequency drives also undergo inverter balancing. Inverter balancing not only balances the fan at peak airflow but also at all operating points on the system curve down to 10 percent of peak airflow.

Experienced technicians mount and wire end devices, starters and variable-frequency drives (VFDs), and direct-digital controllers to the air handler in the factory using industry-standard wiring practices. Factory-installation of these controls greatly reduces field installation efforts and costs. In addition, it helps provide simple startup and reliable air handler and controller operation.

Controllers that are selected as factory-configured are connected to a computer test booth that downloads the necessary control sequence. Configuring the controller in the factory eliminates the programming time required in the field for programable-style controllers. The only field setup that must be done for thesesetup that must be done for these controllers is defining the set points if they differ from the factory defaults. Use of pre-engineered, tested algorithms further assures reliable air handler and controller operation.

For air handlers with factory-mounted direct-digital controllers, the end devices are tested to confirm proper operation and continuity between the controller and each device.
